How to create emotionally engaging listings
Reserving a hotel or vacation rental property often involves more emotion than your average online transaction. Travelers like to imagine themselves staying at the property—cuddling up in a duvet, sliding down a waterslide, or enjoying a fresh pastry on a patio.
To drive emotional engagement in your Expedia Group listing, think about trustworthy content, strong reviews, and the right kind of photos. Even selecting photos with a bit of color can make a difference. A 2017 Xerox study showed that color makes marketing materials 39% more memorable.
Scott Jones, Vice President of Global Design and User Experience here at Expedia Group, shares more insights about listings that capture travelers’ attention, with Anna Bhatia, Director of User Experience for Lodging Partner Services. He’s studied travelers in a lab to see what really excites them when looking at a property listing.
